Originally built as a hill station in 1905 and recently renovated to a high standard.
This home has been in the same family for 30 years and has never before been offered as a holiday rental.
Just over an hours drive from Melbourne and a 2 minute drive into Healesville's town centre.
Set in magnificent grounds of approximately 6 acres, a heady blend of ancient trees, lawns with azaleas, rhododendrons and camellias to name a few. Out the back citrus trees and herbs.
High on its own hill with total privacy.
Within these grounds there is ample space to lose your friends for an hour or so in a quiet corner, read or just take in the mountain ranges and valleys in the near distance.
Summer outdoors revolves around the swimming in the solar heated pool and tennis court or perhaps a game of be warned the bumps in the lawn will give everyone an even chance.
The home is sprawling, somewhat grand with a touch of the eclectic.
The original ballroom, now a living space opens via the french doors onto a party sized northern verandah shaded by wisteria and enhanced by both heating and fans.
You will not want to leave it, and it will no doubt be the centre of your time at Amani (peace), with its gardenia or jasmine scents depending on the season.
The rest of the house will not disappoint with the library, including a TV, Bose Bluetooth, CD and record player in the living area, 3 open fire places with a well stocked woodbox, hydronic heating throughout and the games room for adults or children.
The large country kitchen has a double Smeg oven and there is a Nespresso machine with pods to get you started.
There are 3 double bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms.
The house is suitable for couples, families or groups.
The house is on single level with two steps into the house if wheelchair access required and there is plenty of parking around the back.
No pets on furniture or beds. Also note property is not fenced.
